Is this the same as Google PageSpeed Insights?
Yes — it runs the same Google Lighthouse engine PageSpeed Insights uses, so the scores match. We just present mobile and desktop together, focus on the Core Web Vitals that affect your rankings, and tell you what to fix first.
Why does mobile score lower than desktop?
Google tests mobile on a throttled, slower device and connection on purpose — most traffic is mobile, and mobile is what your rankings are judged on. A gap between mobile and desktop is normal; a big gap is a signal that heavy scripts or images are hurting real phone users.
What are Core Web Vitals?
Three metrics Google uses as direct ranking factors: LCP (how fast your main content appears), CLS (how much the layout jumps around while loading), and Total Blocking Time (how long the page is frozen while scripts run). Good scores mean a fast, stable page — and a ranking edge.
The test takes a while — is that normal?
Yes. A real Lighthouse test loads your page on an emulated device and measures everything as it renders, so it takes 20–60 seconds — longer for heavier sites. That’s the price of real data instead of a guess.
Why does my score change between runs?
Lighthouse runs on shared Google infrastructure under simulated throttling, so scores naturally move a few points run to run. Judge it on the range, not a single number — and on whether your Core Web Vitals are green.
